Chef Jenny Chicoye

Chef Jenny Chicoye’s Bio

Owner of Buku Vegan.

I am Haitian-American and Brooklyn-born, known most for my glorious head-wrap. A self taught, plant-based chef and baker who’s been featured in Miami Vibes Magazine, Edible Orlando Magazine, Ardent Nova, and runner-up for The Greatest Baker Competition. I was also honored to curate seasonal menu items for different vegan cafes/restaurants.

I became interested in baking one snowy, New York City day, I wanted a sweet treat without trekking through the madness and decided to use whatever was at the house. Banana bread. Seems easy enough, so, why not? I was quite pleased with how the results turned out but also learned how else I could improve my creation. Truth be told; it hasn’t stopped since.

Nowadays, you can catch the owner of Buku Vegan at local markets and events in Orlando and
the surrounding areas, or in the kitchen making some specialty cakes and playing with fondant.
From all of us at Team Buku, we appreciate you being here and trusting us with your tastebuds!

Buku Vegan was created in 2018 to satisfy any sweet tooth craving someone might have without having to worry about dairy, eggs, or other hidden animal products. Love is always the first ingredient with quality being a close second.

I know firsthand how important taste is, especially when you introduce the naughty word ‘vegan’ into the mix. Buku Vegan guarantees you’ll be left not only satisfied but also wanting more. Cruelty-free and delectable shouldn’t be a foreign concept, rather, one that creates a
delicious union; which is the foundation of this company.
