Spring 2020

Welcome to our new platform: Volume 3, Issue 7.

First and foremost, my thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by COVID-19.

We have been forced to accept a new reality, but we must move forward, remain vigilant, and keep a positive mindset as we move into this new season in humanity.

Our immunity is viciously challenged by Coronavirus. Consequently, we must make a point to strengthen our immune health by consuming the essential vitamins and minerals that our bodies require to combat infections, diseases, or viruses.

To help guide you in the right direction, we put together a list of 9 powerful immune-boosting fruits and veggies packed with vitamin A, C & E for you to consider consuming this spring season which you can find in Ripe & Ready. In Eat This, Not That, Licensed Registered Dietitian, Mirline Fourron lays out the differences between oats with Got Oats On Your Mind.

Reaping what we sow isn’t just proverbs it is an idea that we should take some great regard to when it comes to planting the seeds that we consume regularly. We listed some of the crops to plant now for the late-summer harvest in Eat It Plant It.

Our culinary editors, Chefs Alain Lemaire and Stephan Durand share their thoughts with us during these trying times in Note From The Chefs.

You will find Q&A with Chefs Cynthia and Robinson Joseph of Michel’s Marinade and Pikliz, Charlene Absalon of Cremas Absalon, and Hesma Tyson of CariBelle Foods in the Artisan Profile.

This spring, we kicked off First Bite with Chef Ryan Owen of Orlando Food Critic who dives in with a review of Mofongo Relleno from Guavate Puerto Rican Eatery in Orlando, Florida.

We had the opportunity to Feature an interview with Chef Elsy Dinvil, food developer, and author of Cooking With My Mother – a cookbook with many of her family’s secret recipes.

Lastly, I hope that you enjoy this new web platform and that you stay engaged with us. I appreciate all who contributed to Spring 2020. For credits, please check the Impressum. Also, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, gatherings, and events are closed until further notice. Therefore, we did not include events in our Gastronomic Calendar. Thank you for your understanding. Stay Home, and Stay safe.
